Castellammare di Stabia has stolen the beauty of the sirens and has spread it to the south of the Gulf of Naples, between the Vesuvius area and another fabulous site of Campania, the Sorrento peninsula.

Castellammare takes its name from its Latin roots mixed with the medieval domination. Literally comes from the expression “castle overlooking the sea”, for the construction of a castle at the time of the Duchy of Sorrento.

In the city center the atmosphere is rich in spirituality thanks to the presence of numerous churches and cathedrals, such as the Cathedral of Maria Santissima Assunta and the Shrine of the Sacred Heart, which houses an early Christian archaeological find.

The monuments blends perfectly with the beautiful landscapes in the city center (as the beautiful town park, the green lung of Castellammare), and outside the center, with stunning views of the Gulf of Naples, which can be seen from the boardwalk, or from Mount Faito, perfect for enjoying views overlooking the sea.

City was remembered by the writer Flaubert in “Madame Bovary“, Castellammare has a certificate in sports, especially in swimming with the Abbagnale brothers, winners of numerous medals at the Olympics.

The tipical products of Castellammare are artichokes, yellow peppers and cookies, that you can find in the center of Castellammare inside the numerous restaurants, bars and pubs in the city, which offer the life stylet he lifestyle of a major European city.
